e-LEARNING FOR ALL

Dates to Note

Friday 1st May

May Day (Public Holiday)

Friday 22nd May

End of half-term

The good news this week is that schools around the world are slowly starting to re-open, with most pupils in China, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Switzerland all due back on campus by the 11th of May!

Whilst we wait and hope for a similar announcement here in Tanzania, we will continue to deliver the curriculum through our online digital learning programme via Google Classrooms. Some of this week’s new topics include:

Pre-School
Counting 1 to 10, fruits & animals, blending sounds to make words and the weather.

Primary
Homophones, reading comprehension, spelling, fractions, graphs, electricity & magnetism, agriculture and ancient Romans.

Secondary School
Detective stories, solving equations, human organ systems, reproduction in plants, glaciers, climate & the environment, the Atlantic slave trade, La famille, Vitendawili and Aboriginal art.

Now that students, teachers and parents have more experience with using Google Classrooms, we are looking at how best to improve and expand the service so that our students will receive the best possible education in these difficult times. We are also looking into extending the school calendar to make up for lost face-to-face teaching time.

Please e-mail principal@fkschools.sc.tz with any helpful suggestions for improvements, as well as photos of students learning at home, which could be included in newsletters or school social media posts!
