Lessons resume (Beginning of third term)
There is increasing evidence suggesting that the spread of covid-19 is dramatically reduced in hot and humid climates and now that the country’s borders have been closed, there is a better chance that the outbreak will be contained. We are still hopeful of welcoming students back on campus on April 20th but we will have no choice than to comply with government regulations if the period of school closures is extended. In either case, every child’s education must continue; teachers will continue to teach and students will continue to learn.
In common with other international schools all across the globe, F.K. International Schools is moving to “digital learning”, where teachers will deliver their lessons and communicate with students via the internet. This is an exciting development which will bring its own challenges but will also expose our students to a modern, dynamic and versatile style of learning. The minimum requirement at home will be for students to have access to a device (mobile phone, tablet, laptop or PC) with internet connection. Hopefully, many parents will find the cost of data will be offset by savings on transport to and from the school campus. Teachers will be busy preparing content for the online lessons which will also be available for you to download at any time when it’s convenient. Progress reports will then be issued during next term, once teachers have had adequate opportunity to conduct suitable assessments. Further details including how to log in etc will be communicated in due course.
You are therefore urged to pay tuition fees on time and make the necessary preparations at home so that lessons can resume next term, whatever the situation. Stay safe and keep in contact!
