Football. Congratulations to our football squads who participated in the first “Afrisoccer” tournament recently. The senior boys managed to reach the semi-finals and the girls team went all the way and won the trophy. The coaches, Mr Phiri and Mr Fred, noted that the players have improved tremendously and are becoming a force to be reckoned with. The team spirit was incredible and we should be very proud of them. Thanks to everyone who came to support, especially parents. The official team photos are below.
International Day. This exciting event is on Saturday 21st March this year and is always entertaining and lots of fun. Each class has been busy preparing a presentation for their country. The celebrations begin at 9 o’clock with the parade of nations followed by cultural performances from each class representing a different country. On the day, students are asked to come wearing clothes featuring one or all of the colours of that country’s flag. Class teachers / Year tutors will co-ordinate this but parents are requested to help by looking for appropriate clothes for their child(ren) to wear. Afterwards there is the opportunity to sample foods from around the world and look at the displays of students’ project work. (These exotic snacks are contributed by students’ families so thanks in advance to all parents willing to bring in their traditional food to share!) Any parents wishing to have a display of their country should contact the school to reserve a table and display board.
Covid-19. Please be alert for symptoms of this new coronavirus including high temperature, coughing etc. Any child with symptoms should NOT be sent to school and anyone with symptoms in school will be sent home.
